Raid on Popular Front camp: Karnataka police team in Kerala

Kannur (Kerala), Apr 29 (PTI):
A three-member team of Internal Security Department of Karnataka Police has gathered details from Kerala Police on recent arrest of 21 activists of radical outfit Popular Front after raiding its "armed training camp" at Narath near here.

The Karnataka team, which arrived last evening, primarily wanted to know whether the arrested had any links with recent blast in Bangalore, police said.

The team members, led by a DYSP, held discussions with their Kerala counterparts and visited the building premises that was raided and from where some lethal weapons and inflammatory pamphlets were seized by police, they said.

The Karnataka officials met DSP Rahul R Nair and DYSP P Sukukamaran, who heads the special team probing the case.

Three country-made bombs and a sword were seized in the raid on April 23 at an under construction building at Narath and 21 people were arrested in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, PF leaders refuted the charge that they had been running an "armed training" camp in the area and the premises that the police raided was just a "workout joint".

Dear Mr Ramesh S: Basically I agree with you on your views. But the question is why Karnataka police wanted to know any links of PFI in Bangalore blast? Did they wanted to know the same with other safron outfits also?

Dear Ifthikar, dont carried away by religion or faith..terrorist are terrorist, dont let them to slip through law just because they are from particular religion..Kerala is Governed by Congress & Muslim league. Accused are caught by kerala police not by karnataka..who are accused & caught in Banglore,Hyderabad blast,Boston blast?.we dont want to see a particular community suffer like in USA & European countries due to handfull of misguided youths..Do you want to become INDIA like Pak,Afghan or Bangla..Look at them, now a days can they pray fearlessly in prayer halls, take procession??..they are in majority, still why they are suffering daily?..Soon you accept the truth & disassociate yourself from these thugs you will be in better position in future..

Mr ramesh your comments should be appreciated, now we are living in a polarised society, media and politics to blame for that. I want to remind you that even U.N failed to define "TERRORISM" . every powerful govt, majority, party, orgn continuosly terrorising people in this world. bomb blast and some skirmishes happening in this world are just tip of the iceberg.
