Kasargod, May 14: Kasargod town police on Monday May 13 night seized around 52 kg of ganja and arrested two persons.

The arrested are K A Nawaz (32), a resident of Kottayam, and C H Saleem (32) of Neeleshwar.

They were caught while trying to transport the ganja in a Tata Sumo.

Based on prior information, the police team led by circle inspector K Sunil Kumar intercepted the Sumo and investigated.

On thorough inspection of the vehicle, it was revealed that a special compartment had been made on the roof of the Sumo and the ganja had been hidden inside.

During interrogation, the duo admitted that they were transporting the ganja from Kottayam to Uppala.

The operation was carried out based on reliable information received by Kasargod DySP P Mohanchandran Nair.

Over the past two months, a whopping two quintals of ganja has been seized in the district. The police are putting in extra efforts to nab culprits in the wake of increasing drug menace in the region.

In KSA, it would end up in death penalty as per Sharia law. India needs such law at least for narcotic drugs

Good work by the police. But look at the picture, doesnt it look something fishy? Is it just 52 Kgs? Its a load of ganja & how can it be accomodated in a special compartment on the roof of a Sumo? It looks as if the police trying to bluff the public.. Well, the culprits should be punished anyway!!

Few years back we were doing one small project for Oman Defense at Khasab in Mussandam region. Being a very small town, almost all Indians know each other very well. Few of the shop owners told me many times that they want to sell their shops and flats at Mangalore region since they find it difficult to run the business because BJP came to power and law and order situation will be more stricter compare to Congress ruling.

Almost all of them are from Kasargod area having business dealing in Mangalore region and they know Kannada and Tulu very well too. When I asked them what kind of business they have in Mangalore region, they said their shops are normal like any other shops but business is all kind of transactions including havala transaction too. Since we knew each other very well, they openly said that they do any kind of business based on Customer requirements. You demand for anything and they will arrange from anywhere for a fixed price. They used to joke like why Karnataka pressing for Kasargod, in fact we want Mangalore in our State Map since more than 50% business activities are occupied by Keralites only. So, this tiny State is not headache only for Karnataka, soon it will create major problem for entire India too

When KSA repatriates their illegal workers, 90% of them will be Keralites. Mangalore will be flooded with these jobless people becoz they don't like to work in their State. For everything they come running to Mangalapuram.
