“For cleaning these drains, nearly 17 machines are running for the time being and manpower will be used for a few places where the machines cannot reach,” he added.

MCC officials K M Jayaprakash, Rajshekar, Ningegowda, and Ganpathya were present.

As against 180 kms. of major drains in the city so far only 59 kms. of desilding work is completed. When the balance will be completed. Only few days left for the onset of monsoon. Also what about the small drain that exists all over the City. Our concrete and other roads are flooded with rainy water. water flows like streams and rivers in some localities. In Attavar Pandeshwar and Kodialguthu side also there are drains which allso create artificial floods during June-July. When desilting will be taken up in these localities. Moreover the concerned authorities have not given the full information with regard to taking up work of desilting at a cost of 71 lakhs. This needs to be given for the information of general public.

Will the DC take some steps in clearing footpaths near Statebank and Govt. hospitals?
if he does, the same people supported him here will oppose him as MOST of the illegal vendors encroaching the footpath do belong to one particular community and vote for Congress.

When the gutters and drainages are cleansed, the mud and dirt taken out from the gutters are just strewn on the bank of the gutter and it is left there only. So, during the very first rain, the same mud and dirt flows back into the same gutter, thereby clogging the gutters-drainages within a week after rainy season starts. So all the money spent on such cleaning is sheer waste.
Therefore, such contracts should also include not only the cleaning of the gutters & drainages but also shifting of such Mud & dirt to outside the City by the same contractor that same evening, so that the same mud do not go back inside the gutters during the rain.

I hope that the road from Bondel Junction towards Muddeshedde running past the Medical Centre, the MSN Post Graduate College and down the slope past the NMPT gate to the stream will be attended to- it was not done 3 years in a row thanks to ineffective Councillor.
And the road is now a mud road due to no maintenance.

Great!!! The Congress party is already on the job. Can see lots of work in progress, like cleaning of gutters and dividers, also the NH work has started. The dividers in the middle of the road should have nice plants and the city should be kept clean.

Had MCC been in Power the Contracts would have gone to the relatives of Corporators of respective wards, who would have swallowed 50% of the grants and cleaned only half of the gutters-drainages.
Whichever party is in power in MCC it makes no difference, the swallowing will never stop.

I thought only Cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai & Kolkata are having “Gutter” problem but now Mangalore is not lagging behind for this kind of menace. Moreover we can see some posh bungalows next to this route of Gutter too. Whoever comes to power in MCC, there will not be any permanent solution for this issue since everybody can smell business in this kind of tender

Good job by Congress. Simultaneously it is suggested that old bus stand and surrounding areas are cleared of debris, pits and stink and laid with paver blocks. Also the footpaths are in bad condition.

They have to first build a proper stonel or cement channel for the drian to flow, otherwise removed soil will back fill the block the drains and only money will flow down the corporaters pockets into the drains.

Permanent action can only be taken after completion of monsoon session as government action needs lot of approval process. Let them do complete the task taken before the monsoon session which will be mammoth task. Let us appreciate the timely action.
