Russell Brand annoys rug seller

Los Angeles, Jul 13 (IANS): Actor-comedian Russell Brand annoyed a rug seller here by doing yoga on one of his carpets.

The 38-year-old began meditating at a Persian rug stall and he was so encapsulated with the spiritual exercise that the rug seller was unable to shift him from the carpet, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"He ignored the long-winded sales pitch, plopped himself down in the lotus position on a four by six antique Persian carpet, closed his eyes, and launched into a droning chant," National Enquirer magazine quoted a source as saying.

"He kept chanting for about 20 minutes. People were staring in disbelief and the rug merchant tried several times to shake him out of his trance but there was no waking him up," the source added.

Brand eventually paid 200 pounds for the rug as he believed it had spiritual energy.

"Suddenly he snapped out of it, jumped up and said, 'I'll take it'," the source said.
