Mangalore, Jul 31: 'Jute Fair', a five-day exhibition-cum-sale of lifestyle and decorative jute products organized by National Jute Board (NJB) under the ministry of textiles was inaugurated by deputy commissioner N Prakash at Hotel Woodlands here on Wednesday July 31.

The exhibition showcased environment-friendly jute consumer products like jute jewellery, gift articles, wall hangings, footwear, floor coverings, trendy and fashionable jute bags, stationery, bangles, key chains, envelopes, wall decoratives and several others.

Speaking after inaugurating the fair, DC N Prakash asked people to make use of the eco-friendly jute products as it is the best alternative for plastic. "This will also help in keeping the environment clean," he said.

Speaking to Daijiworld, T Ayyappan, market promotion officer of NJB said "As many as 25 jute entrepreneurs from different parts of the country like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and UP have participated in this fair showcasing variety of their products."

"The main aim of organizing this promotional fair is to spread awareness among people about the use of eco-friendly products. People are ignorant about the environment and thus make use of plastic. Very trendy and attractive jute products.(including jute jewelry).

Ladies you are now safe/free from chain snatchings.

Hopefully, these products will be in good demand by foreign tourists. Also, explore the possibilities to export to other countries.
