Mumbai, Jan 30: The annual sports day of 'Buntara Sangha' Mumbai was celebrated at a grand Ceremony on Khalsa College open ground, King's Circle.

Former Indian wicketkeeper and currently chairman of Indian Cricket Board's selection committee Kiran More inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. President of the association Sudhakar Hegde was present.

Mangalorean athlete star from Mumbai who shone at the national level Lokesh Mendon and captain of national women's Kabaddi team Sumathi Poojari were the guests of honor.

Police officer Prakash Bhandari, M D Shetty, Anand Shetty, Aikala Harish Shetty, Bunts ladies wing president Latha P Bandari and other dignitaries were also present.

A large number of bunt community members along with their families from various associations like Bunts Sangha Mumbai, Bombay Bunts Association, Tulunada Bunts Vasai, Mira Road Bunts, JAWAB, Navee Mumbai Bunts, Thane Bunts and Mulund Bunts were present to witness and participate in the sports day event.

There was an interesting cricket match between 'Bunts Film team' led by Harish Shetty and Bunts Mumbai team was organised. Bunts Film team won the match

Throwball matches were held for women members, wherein Bombay Bunts emerged as winners among nine strong teams.

A variety entertainment programe was also organized during this event. Former Indian captain Mohammed Azharudin was the chief guest. MLA Gopal Shetty, Jaya K Shetty, Mallesh Shetty, K Madhwi, Vinaya Madhwi and Santosh Shetty Bhiwandi were the other guests of honour.

Bunts Mumbai member Shridar Shetty was honoured for his contribution to the games and athletics at the national level. Mohd Azharuddin honoured him with shawl and memento.
