Mumbai, Aug 19 (PTI): An American woman was on Sunday assaulted inside a local train by an unidentified person, who escaped with her mobile phone, police said.
The incident took place late this evening when the train was approaching Mumbai Central railway station, DCP (Western Railway) B Shirsat said.
The accused attacked the woman, identified as Michelle Mark. He snatched her i-Phone and fled from the spot.
When other passengers noticed it, they alerted the railway officials, who got her admitted to government-run Nair Hospital.
According to Shirsat, a case of robbery and assault has been registered against an unknown person.
