Kundapur, Sep 3: A man committed suicide on the railway track at Hattiangady cross here on Monday September 2, reportedly due to marital problems.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath alias Mohammed (20), son of Babu and resident of Kedoor.

About 20 months ago, Manjunath had got married to Ayesha (21), daughter of Nawab Jan, a resident of Damujali, Bhatkal. Theirs was a love marriage.

After marriage, he changed his name to Mohammed and worked in a garment store at Kundapur. Ayesha had earlier worked in a mobile phone shop, and then in a jewellery store. She recently left her job. The couple stayed in a rented house at Balekere in Kenchanur.

In a death note found in Manjunath's trousers, he stated that he himself was responsible for taking the extreme step.

It is said that Manjunath had befriended a girl whom he met every day in bus. This had led to frequent flare-ups with his wife. Several times the arguments had snowballed into physical fights too, sources said. Moreover, Manjunath was suffering from heart ailment and used to take lot of medication, said his wife.

It is suspected that Manjunath ended his life as he was unable to cope with the problems he faced from society due to his marriage, coupled with his health condition. He had gone to the railway track on Monday morning at around 10.30 am. However, railway track checking was going on, and the workers convinced him not to end his life and gave him Rs 100.

Later, when he felt hungry, he went to a nearby shop and bought a packet of biscuits and tender coconut water. In the evening he returned to the railway crossing and ended his life under the Matsyagandha train.

Kundapur police have registered a case.

1 Question- As per the above details, When Manjunath had gone in Morning 2 commit suicide, the Railway Track Checking workers convinced him to not take this Extreme step and gave him Rs.100. My Question is why didn't the workers immediately alerted the Railway Police or Local Police. If they had done this... 1 precious life would have been saved. I think we need to Train our local railway workers on Damage Control System.

Where he can face his society & marry a girl of his choice, I don't think he's weak in heart & can committ suicide for some silly reasons. Looks something fishy in the whole episode! His wife should tell whats the truth 'cos he is no more to disclose!!

Totally agree with Manish, I think its time to have equal rights for men and woman as many countries have. There are some woman who take advantage of the law. But here it is surprising the track workers just let the man go with 100RS even though they new his motive.May be they sould have contacted Police or NGOs to support or help this man.

    May God rest his soul.
Dowry related deaths of women 8200 per year.
Suicide of men cause of women(DV,498a, harassment etc) 9000 per year.
Living dead men cause of wife harrasing everyday 40% of world adult male population. (Some suffer from withing, Some suicide, Some beat the crap out)

Note: Its common for women to say he had a affair, health problem, drinking problem, secsual problem etc. But the truth is something else.

Doni sagali munde hogali doora teerava serali, Dada seradiddare innobba kaalu haktane dada serisalike, amele nanodu teera neenodu teera heli yenu prayojana villa. There is nothing like life mistakes do happen forgive and forget and move forward in life. Mistakes should not be repeated. but some dead souls always dig the buried bodies and try to take revenge.
