Bangalore: More the merrier? 3,500 policemen in state have two wives!

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore

Bangalore, Sep 6: It may sound strange, but believe it or not, there are reportedly around 3,500 policemen in the state who have two wives!

The above statement was made public by the state men's protection committee. Condemning the policemen for having two wives, the Samiti activists protested in front of state police director’s office on Thursday September 5 during which they revealed the above fact.

Speaking to mediapersons during the protest, chief secretary N Nagesh said that altogether there are around 3,500 policemen in the state with two wives. "Among them, 1,800 are constables, 560 head constables, 175 circle inspectors, 470 police inspectors, 15 DySPs and 180 assistant sub-inspectors. Having two wives is against the law," he said.

"These figures were obtained by secret police teams themselves," he claimed.

"The terms of service have been enforced to preserve morality and ethics among government workers. But now, policemen are violating these terms by having two wives while still in service," he added.

"It is a shame that police officials who are appointed to maintain law and order in society are not fulfilling their duties," he lamented, adding that the policemen had hidden their second marriages from the government.

"Once the policeman retires from his job, one of his wives will face injustice. This should stop at once," he demanded.

Very sensible and wise answer. We all agree that women for any reason cannot have more than one husband. Nature and history had proved this fact. A man, by nature, is inclined to go for more partners but this can be only with responsibility of delivering the justice for both in every respect which most of the times is difficult but for exceptional cases. Mere fulfilling of desire is not acceptable. Looking at the ongoing onslaught with our women in the name of rape, suggestion of Mr. Lucas must be applauded in the context of safety of women in India.

With whom will they share the salary and the hafta ? someone who takes care of them. If one puts tantrums, he goes to the other. so he is secure. and he can do his duty better. otherwise it is boring for them with so much money and one wife only. wives or mistress, does it matter ? after all there is a man in a woman !! and life has to go on. jai ho !

Since you guys are dare and controlling the general public don't hide this like a coward. Keep both of them in same house and give equal love. So that one can prepare and keep the breakfast ready before you starts duty and other one can help you to polish your boot, ironing and to wear your uniform since it is a tedious job.

Once the first marriage is over, they enjoy for sometime and live happily for some years with some kids. Wife becomes busy with kids and other things.
Then suddenly police force realises his need and he will be on special duties very often. The sheen is off the first wife. The glitter is somewhere else.
That's when the first wife should know\find out what is that special duty is all about..!!!
Mostly the first wife gets the boot, unless she is well off from her parents side. Second one is retained as she will be much younger and full of ZEST!!
As men get older, they kind of get that hankering for younger looking ... I think!!

Surely these Policemen will need more time and energy to handle their family related issues.
Their energy and mind power will be exhausted to do daunting Police job!

But to put the matter straight,
Policemen having one Wife would not automatically becomes fit for Policing Job or doesn't mean they may not have extra relations!

Is there similar survey of our Politicians and Lady Policemen too?

It is a matter of legally enforced employment terms to preserve morality, ethics, legality and code of conduct

If these police personnel are non-muslims and having a second woman other than his legally wedded wife, it is an unethical and unholy relationship which society doesn't accept.

Looks this could be one the reasons for some policemen take bribe to meet the additional budget required for support the mistress.

Good joke of the day - law enforcing officials violate the law of the land. Poor wife is in the dark knows nothing.

This is India. Officially only one wife and privately one more small house. This is not only for Police many others also take pride in having a second one. Unfortunately the first one will not complain so no issue. When our ex-CM also had a second one, nobody could question and how can any one question any other. If they are celebrities or big shots it is ok to have any number of wives, first wife shuts the mouth, second one enjoys the life.

The last sentence 'Once the policeman retires from his job, one of his wives, will face injustice'....Me thinks...
Why only 'One'? Think it should be 'TWO' here too.. Otherwise specify the job or service please.
When 'going is good', meaning, when he in service or services, both Wives enjoy-right? Then when it stops how come only one will face injustice? Got my point??
And what 'More the Merrier' caption? Only 'Two' here and there is injustice!! Think it should have been 'More the Wives-Short the Merry'.....
