Kasargod, Sep 14: In view of several incidents of stone pelting at buses in the recent past, police will now provide security to passengers of KSRTC bus plying between Mangalore and Kasargod.

The protection at nights is being provided considering the several incidents of stone throwing that have occurred in the area, damaging nine buses and injuring several passengers.

The buses will ply with police vehicles from Kumble, Kasargod and Manjeshwar leading the buses.

Kumble police will provide protection from Kumble to Mogral and Kasargod police from there. Manjeshwar police vehicles will accompany KSRTC buses from Uppala Kaikamba to Manjeshwar.  The buses are provided protection till Talapady border.

Four to five KSRTC buses will ply together in a group led by police vehicle.

No arrests have been made with regard to stone throwing incidents.

There should not be arrest, becoz its waste of time and money for govt. as police need to present them in court and etc. its better to handover them to general public so that, public can teach them what is the pain of stone hit.

This may be the tactic of Private Bus Owner to stop KSRTC plying in these routes. Interesting to know whether this protection is there for Bus or Passenger?

Find the culprits and award the exemplary punishment. How long police can escort the passengers! This is the height of anarchy.
