Now, an ornament for women that leaves attackers suffe'ring'

Bangalore, Sep 15 (Deccan Chronicle): Finger rings worn by women for fashion or tradition can also act as a self-defence weapon. With incidents of attack, gang rape and sexual assault being reported against women across the country, the women need to protect themselves from marauding offenders.

Imran Khan from Davangere, who holds a B.Pharma and MBA degrees and is the chairman of Save My Sister Trust, has invented a finger ring (his patented product) that can help women protect themselves from assault, molestation or rape.

Khan told Deccan Chronicle, "I have found a solution with which the women can protect themselves. I developed a working model within a month of the Delhi gangrape incident. Compared to other jewellery worn by women, finger rings are tough to snatch, so I came up with this idea."

He said, "The ring has a micro tank, micro needle, micro pump and a Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tag on the top with a dual lock mechanism. The micro-tank stores Capsaicin (a chemical compound that stimulates chemoreceptor nerve endings in the skin, especially the mucous membranes), while micro-pump and micro-needle help in injecting the drug into the attacker's body.

"The RFID tag is helpful in preventing misuse of the device. All that the victim needs to do is unlock the mechanism and inject the chemical into the attacker. Once the drug is injected, the attacker will feel intense pain, itching and burning sensation. But it will not kill the attacker. We have checked the merits and drawbacks of the mechanism."

As part of the Save My Sister campaign, the Trust is writing to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to come up with a uniform helpline number and a dedicated online complaint mechanism for women.

How it works

The self-defence ring contains a micro-tank, micro-needle, micro-pump and a Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tag the top along with a dual lock mechanism. The micro tank stores the chemical, Capsaicin, while micro pump and micro-needle help in injecting the drug into the attacker's body. The chemical causes intense pain, burning sensation and itching, but it does not kill anyone.

The RFID tag helps in preventing it misuse. The user needs to unlock the locking mechanism and inject the chemical. As the ring is protected by a dual lock mechanism, it can be worn comfortably.

The ring, which was launched in the city on Friday, is available through the Save My Sister helpline number: 080-64500112.

Ok Kavita Madam: Why Innocent kids are raped?
Can a Male father educate a daugther about sexual education and its dangers? Nope.
It falls under mothers care right?
I hope atleast you agree on that.
    So is the mother doing?
Busy at work brushing her bossor busy with makeup and thinking of what to wear like some bollywood herione and so and so.
If you remember back in old days grandmums used to scold your mothers if they dresses sleezly cause there were still harrasment in the buses. They used to educate the girls about predators and not to go alone or talk to strangers
Now Poor kids there is noone to guide or care. If you check the kids who were raped you will see mother is busy at work and she has no idea about the dangers and no idea about culture!!! She is used to talking to strangers and going out with them.

I am not saying MEN are not in fault, SUch people should be shot in the head. BUT where are the mothers who need to educated the kids about these predators?
I hope that answers your question,
If you still didnt understand then thats arrogance!

Khan has used Guntur Chilli extract for this ring.
Instead he should have used Assam Chilli ( Bhoot Jolokia OR Naga Chilli) extract which is 150 times more pungent than Guntoor.
Assam /Nagaland/Manipur Jolokia Chilli also called as Ghost-Pepper has earned place in Guinness Record as hottest chilli in the world.

    @Kavitha Madam India.
You asked me which century i live in?
Answer: I live in a century and country where still when i look at my mother and sisters they don't look like someone belonging to Bollywood movie heroines(Sunny leone). They cover themselves modestly and are still stylish. They dont need Mabeline, L'Oreal or other beauty products to cover their flaws.
They still have culture and pride in tradition which can only be spread to future generations through these kind of people.
God save Indian and Indian women.

I hope this answers your question.

Yes there is no point in arguing when you do not read a comment in full and understand the gist.Read my first comment for your 'education' retort...And also one more thing ...You seem to have a preconceived notion about 'men only raping!...There's
a more horrible section...of Women also sexually abusing children do you know that? It happens in big cities and is hushed up most of the times...'Fully 'covered up'...O.K.? So let us not deal in cases in isolation here.

That's what I am trying to tell..Madam.... Here the 'Mindset'
is different. 'Less Clothes' propel and that does not mean 'Proper Clothes' dispel fears of rape.In these situations if one advocates your extreme view point of dressing as one pleases which has the inclination towards 'torso baring'the results may not be that pleasing.
Got my point? Why instigate when the atmosphere is already vitiated. It's your call anyhow.

Women dont tell men how to dress and when to get out so why should the women be told by men? Eg of helmets? What do you have to say about children who are dressed well and being raped during the day? Friends,
There is a jacket available which can be worn by female at any time.
The moment anyone one try to molest or attack lonely women it helps in discharging massive electricity and the attacker would become mum and paralyzed for a moment due to the heavy electric shock.
But it doesn't harm who is wearing it.
Same way there are suit cases also which prevent theft instantly.

So Byadagi munchi is only good for making another product of ladies, that is Nail Polish and Lip Stick. Anyway Chilli and Chori (girls) have very close relation.

Thank you Mr. Khan for your great thinking but one question – Can this one ring and the medicine protect a woman from more than two attackers? In many case gang rape happened more than four persons, please develop the ring. What happens if it is used or accidentaly injected by self? What will happen if a person have severe allergic reaction? Females may take revenge even for silly reason some time wife on husband........Thanks.
