Jon Hamm to host part for Emmy award losers

Los Angeles, Sep 22 (IANS): Actor-director Jon Hamm will be hosting a party for all those who don't win any awards at the Emmy Awards ceremony Sunday night.

Hamm is nominated in the category for outstanding lead actor in a drama series for his role of Don Draper in "Mad Men". He has been nominated five times previously as well, but he never won it.

Hamm will be hosting the party with Amy Poehler, who has also never won an Emmy Award.

"We figured that the winners get celebrated enough, so we thought it was about time that the losers get celebrated," eonline quoted Hamm as saying.

"Poehler and I are friends from a long time ago and every year, when we would lose the Emmy, we would kind of wink at each other and call each other losers for the rest of the night.

"We called it the Losers Lounge because nobody who was there won, and it kind of stuck. We were like, 'That was a really fun party. We should do that again, but we should do it bigger and better and invite our friends who aren't going to win either. We'll have a good time with it'," he added.

Emmy Award winners are likely to be allowed to attend the bash only if they leave their Emmy Awards at the door and donate $1,000 (£667) donation to charity.
