Bollywood's all-time hits compiled for iTunes


New Delhi, Oct 9 (IANS): From Kishore Kumar's melodious tracks to R.D. Burman's memorable numbers, a special compilation of 20 popular Bollywood songs titled 9X Jalwa Blockbuster Beats is now available on the Indian iTunes Store.

The compilation, by Bollywood music channel 9X Jalwa and music label Universal Music India, includes songs like "Saara zamana", "Mehbooba mehbooba", "Yamma yamma" and "My name is Anthony Gonsalves".

"'Blockbuster Beats' on 9X Jalwa enjoys fantastic viewership and time spent on the channel. With 9X Jalwa Blockbuster Beats we plan to recreate this amazing experience on the digital space," Vibha Gosher, 9X Media Group senior vice president (Digital), said in a statement.

The idea was viable for Universal Music India as it has the second largest Bollywood catalogue content with hits from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, says Vinit Thakkar, digital head, Universal Music India.

"We felt this was the right time to bring these all time hit Bollywood tracks back into the forefront," Thakkar added.

9X Jalwa Blockbuster Beats compilation is available for Rs. 120 on the iTunes store in India for download on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC or at: www.iTunes.com/In.
