Udupi: Unidentified body of girl found in Suvarna river

Udupi, Oct 24: The body of a girl aged around 22-23 years was found near the late Pakru Master's house at Paduthonse village, Balligara Kudru, Kemmanu here on Thursday October 24.

The body was found floating in the Suvarna river.

Nagaraj, a local noticed the girl and immediately informed the village panchayat and the police. The body was moved to the Government Hospital in Udupi.

The girl was found wearing a white and brown salwar-kameez with a white dupatta. She also wore a nose ring and anklets on both the legs. The girl has a dark complexion, and is said to be 5 feet tall.

Malpe police SI Jayanth arrived at the spot. T M Rehmatullah of taluk panchayat and Congress leader and social worker Veronica Cornelio along with Thonse panchayat member Nityananda Kemmanu, vice president Sulochana, member Arun helped to move the body.

A case has been registered at the Malpe police station.

Any detail pertaining to this case may be reported to the Udupi or the Malpe police station.
