Kasargod: Village accountant arrested for taking bribe

Kasargod, Oct 25: Vigilance officials have arrested Pavanadka resident K Anil Kumar (36), rural official of Adooru while accepting bribe.

Farooq from Adoor had requested for land certificate and sketch of his land for applying for loan. Anil Kumar had demanded a bribe of Rs 1,500.  Farooq had complained to the vigilance officials who gave currency notes with Phinaphil powder spread on them for giving to Anil Kumar.

After Farooq came back giving the bribe, vigilance squad led by Inspector V Unnikrishnan took the Rs 1000 note received by Anil Kumar as bribe and arrested him. The squad consisted of ASI Ramadas, Vishwanathan Nambiar and others in it. The raid was conducted on Thursday, October 24.
