London, Oct 31: Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor was honoured in the British House of Commons in recognition of the contribution made by her to the international entertainment industry.
The Asian Sunday Newspaper presented her with a golden coloured plaque as a gesture of honour. It was presented by the chairman of Britain’s Home Affairs Committee, NRI MP Keith Vaz.
After receiving the honour, Kareena Kapoor remarked that the UK and India share a special bond which has become more profound over the years. She also admitted that UK has been one of her most prefered destinations.
Kareena Kapoor has a sense of belongingness to the UK as her grandmother was British. Having worked in several blockbusters, she is greatly appreciated as one of the leading actresses of Indian film industry.
She and her husband Saif Ali Khan had been in Beirut recently to shoot for Kabir Khan’s movie Phantom. She is eagerly awaiting her forthcoming movie Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.
