Mangalore, Nov 5: Due to heavy rains accompanied by winds, a high tension electric tower fell over a house near Killur at Pavoor here on Sunday November 3 night.

It is a pure case of criminal negligence by the KPTCL officials. They are supposed to carry out periodic inspection and corrective action on rusted transmission poles. When there is high voltage power transmission involved it is a serious crime to neglect such important routine. If it was a private company or individual involved, the police would have arrested the criminals. In this case, the police have no courage to arrest Govt officials. What would have been the fate if the live wire had electrocuted persons under?
