Mangalore: 14-year-old girl commits suicide

Mangalore, Nov 12: Pavitra, a 14-year-old girl studying in class 9 at a government school in Nalyapadav, Shaktinagar on Monday November 11 evening allegedly committed suicide in her house by hanging.

Pavitra was the youngest among 4 children to Sujatha and the late Venugopal. Their house is located in Shantinagar.

As per the information obtained, Pavitra did not attend school on Saturday and Monday. It is learnt that the girl on Monday left for school from home but did not attend classes and in the evening, she committed suicide by hanging herself.

The reason behind taking the extreme step is yet to be known.

A case has been registered in Mangalore rural police station.
