As you have clearly stated, the poverty and hunger can't be replaced through Government plans. Until every able person will take care of somebody who is needy in front of them through sacrificing our wants-deliberately setting apart a portion of our income to help them and showing compassion, then only the problem can be solved. 400 million people of India are in the world poverty list who are making $ 1.25/day, and we can find them in front of us. Until the Christian community takes the first step to undertake this initiative, other people will not be motivated. Since I have watched with pain face to face, the poverty of the slum people in India, and the
poor villagers of West Bengal and other north Indian cities, we have a greater divinely mandated responsibility to do in the coming days.

May the blessings of Jesus flow to all in the world. The world is full of tensions, hatred, poverty, jealousy, etc. We have to keep something aside for the poor always in every month, else they have to pay the tax. When we eat, we have to remember who are in need of food, clothes, shelter, etc. Rich people, politicians can donate 10 to 25% of their salary to the needy every month. Best wishes to all.

Our faith in JESUS CHRIST, is it to be hidden Monday through Saturday, and take back from the shelf and go to Church and worship on Sunday's only? 2000 years back, one dozen less educated, some of them as social outcasts, changed the world through proclaiming the gospel and facing martyrdom. The missionaries from Europe and the U.S. came to India, preached the gospel, built hospitals and educational institutions. How many such institutions are in Mangalore, and see the high standard of living-literacy and prosperity in Mangalore! It is the missionary enterprise and sacrifice. Every Christian is supposed to be an open witness for JESUS from Sunday through Saturday to transform the world with love and compassion. JESUS wanted His every follower to be the light and salt of the world. Let this open march may be the beginning of a great movement of CHRIST's light in Mangalore.

Mr.Mathew,
Though I am a Hindu, i am a real admirer of Christianity. I have seen their works in the very remote North eastern parts of India.Where no one dared to go, Christians have done a wonderful job of uplifting the downtrodden, educating them, providing healthcare etc.This is where I see Jesus Christ.I remember, during the Horrible Lathur earthquake (1993)and Kutch earthquake (2001),The christian volunteers were present, even before the Indian Army troops reached the Ground Zero and nursed the wounded.It is easy to say unwanted thing About the Christians, But I stand a witness to the good deeds done by them, which would not have been possible by anyone else.This is where I see Jesus Christ.

CAPTAIN KRISHNADEV: Sir, I don't know, how to thank you for such a very deeply touching comment. It is great that people of your caliber are keenly observing what a certain percentage of the Christian believers are doing to wipe the tears of the crying world.
JESUS CHRIST in HIS very short ministry on earth, mainly did three things. HE preached the gospel (good news), fed the hungry and healed the sick. As a believer in CHRIST which was started 59 years ago, I do strongly believe and speak it out that every follower of CHRIST has to follow that pattern of life to shed light to this darkened world of selfishness-sickness and killing.

If there are a very few great people like you, keenly observing the compassionate side of the true followers of CHRIST, the world would have been a far better place to live. May GOD greatly bless you and your family.

Mr.Mathew,I was educated in a Christian school.I was taught good values by the Jesuits who were running the school.I have served at both the Pak as well as the China Borders for a long time and seen a lot of bloodshed.But what makes fume is not the enemy at the borders but the enemies within our country who are trying to divide our nation with religion, caste and creed.Let us all have one religion that is humanity.Let us all be humans first.Then we will see our country reaching great heights.Let us all ignite the spark of patriotism within us.
