Chilly Christmas morning in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 25 (IANS): It was a chilly Christmas morning Wednesday here with the minimum temperature settling at 7.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average. The Met Office has forecast a clear day ahead.

“The afternoon will be sunny and there will be light mist in the evening,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 20 degrees Celsius.

Fog in parts of north India continued to affect trains as over 20 were delayed and three had to be rescheduled, A.S. Negi, spokesperson of Northern Railway said.

“The delays are due to heavy backlog and dense fog in other parts of north India,” said Negi.

Tuesday’s maximum temperature settled two notches below the season's average at 19.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was a notch above the season's average at 8.5 degrees Celsius.
