Bahrain, Feb 26: Bunts Bahrain recently inducted its new committee presided by Bharath Shetty, Sunil Shetty as vice president, Mohandas Shetty as treasurer during its annual mega event ‘Induction Ceremony’ at ‘The Indian Club’ witnessed by over 400 families.
The other members elected are Doomanna Rai as general secretary, Prasanna Shetty as entertainment secretary, Sukesh Shetty as sports secretary, Shivaraj Shetty as assistant general secretary, Naveen Alva as assistant entertainment secretary, Pranesh Shetty as assistant sports secretary and Pushparaj Shetty as public relationsofficer for the year 2013-14.
Nagesh Shetty, an Indian lawyer by qualification with over 20 years of experience into Indian ministry and income tax department and currently owner of Blue Park Group of Restaurants in Mumbai and Mangalore serving as president of JAVAB was felicitated during ceremony as the chief guest.
Shanthram Shetty, Ramee Group GM as the platinum sponsor, Sudhakar Shetty, Prudential Manpower Owner, Naveen Shetty, AUMA Manager and Prakash Shetty, Central Cafe owner as gold sponsors were the guests of honor.
The highlight of the program was the financial assistance as the association’s motive displayed the drafted cheque for Rs1 lakh raised over the month towards the medical treatment of the wife of an Indian hotel staff working in Bahrain and traditional style of induction depicting the Indian Bunt Culture with the ‘Guthu Manne’ (traditional bunts house) in the background wearing Indian costume while playing the 'chende music' in the background.
Bunts association from three Karnataka taluks namely Bantwal, Sulia and Karkala were chosen as the lucky taluks and were urged to put forth an appeal from their people requiring financial assistance for education, medical assistance, marriage assistance for girls and other crucial areas.
Nagesh N Shetty personally supported the program by contributing Rs 50,000 and Vinod Joseph further boosted the charity program by announcing financial assistance of Rs 10,000 towards each of the charity programs.
People thoroughly enjoyed the induction ceremony and spectacular entertainment program put forth by the participating artists excellently choreographed by Aasthika Sunil Shetty, Abhijith Jayaram Shetty, Harini Sadananda Shetty, Hema Shivkumar Shetty, Neha Roshan Shetty, Shobha Sathish Shetty,Tejas Jaya Shetty followed by Amarnath Rai and Prathima Arun Shetty striking the right cord with their melodious music.
Prasanna Shetty, Entertainment secretary delivered the vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all the sponsors, choreographers, volunteers, supporters and each and every person contributing towards the event. This was followed by a delicious dinner.
