Ajman: National conference on health insurance held at GMU

Ajman, Mar 16: Experts from Insurance sector from all over UAE will deliberated on issues related to Health Insurance during the national conference on health insurance vision 2020 - from regulation to development which was heldon March 13 at Gulf Medical University in Ajman. The conference was held in association with Aafia Medical Billing Services LLC.

The aim of the conference was to create a common platform for all experts from the insurance sector to address important issues related to Health Insurance, andupdates on latest trends in health insurance and honor leading experts from the Insurance sector in the country.

Sheikh DrMajid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, chairman, Ruler’s Court Ajman honored Dr Haidar Al Yousuf, director Health Funding and Member of the DHA Executive Committee & Strategy Council, in the presence of Thumbay Moideen, founder president Board of Governors of Gulf Medical University.

Other leading personalities like Dr Omar Ghosheh,  Carl Stanifer, Hytham Halaby, Abdul Al Muttaleb Al Jaedi, Patrick Choffel, Walid A Sidani, Neuron LLC and Dr Yasmeen Jumma Albalooshiwere also honored duringthe conference. Over 350 delegates from all over attended the conference. Dr Haidar Al Yousuf appreciated the initiative of Gulf Medical University and presented a special memento to the General Manager of Aafia medical Billing Services LLC for supporting the conference.

Dr Haidar Al Yousuf highlighted the Dubai Government’s strategy to make health Insurance mandatory. Such legal initiatives only truly succeed when the government, academia, the insurance sector, and healthcare institutions effectively collaborate and keep the insured member at the heart of their strategic efforts, he said.

Walid Sidani - ADNIC chief executive officer said "The phased and systemic implementation of the compulsory medical insurance provision law being spearheaded by the Dubai Health Authority will enable the growing population in Dubai and surrounding vicinity to have access to some of the world's best healthcare benefits and facilities.

"Today's National Conference on Health Insurance held at the Gulf Medical University in Ajman is an important step in bringing us all together as stakeholders to chart out the best way to help Dubai meet its healthcare and insurance vision of 2020," added Sidani.

Authoritative talks were delivered by experts like Dr Haidar Al Yousuf, Elie Abdelnour, Dr Dennis Sebastian, Dr P K Menon, Jasjeet Bindra and others.
