Dubai : He came for a massage on finding card, was attacked with sword instead

Dubai, Apr 8 (7days) : Sword attack outside Dubai massage parlourA driver who found a massage centre business card lying in the road and decided to go for a treatment was attacked by five thugs armed with swords and a baseball bat as he stepped out of the building.

Details of the brutal attack, in Dubai’s International City, came to light during the trial of a Vietnamese man accused of running the parlour as a brothel.

Dubai public prosecutors said that in May the victim, a 30-year-old Indian driver, stopped his truck in Rashidiya to buy a meal. He spotted a massage centre card on the ground and called the number printed on the card. Court records show that a woman answered the phone. “She guided me to the location and I went to the flat,” the victim told the court. “I rang the bell and no one answered.”

As he stepped out of the building, two people carrying a sword and a baseball bat attacked him, the court was told. He received a stab wound to his shoulder and an injury to his left arm, as well as being struck across his leg by the bat.

Three other men then appeared and joined the assault before cops arrived. They checked CCTV footage and saw five men chasing the victim before raiding the massage parlour. Police arrested a 28-year-old Vietnamese man who appeared in court charged with running a brothel at the premises. He denied the charge.

Police are still searching for the Chinese and Vietnamese attackers.
