Mangalore, Jun 14: Some unidentified miscreants pelted stones at "Kalpana Sweets", a famous sweets shop in the city near Hampankatta, on Tuesday June 13 night.  The localites managed to catch one person in this regard who has now been handed over to the Bunder police.

He has been identified as Mohammad Mustafa, a resident of Jokatte.

The miscreants had pelted stones at Kalpana Sweets while standing at a place where there was no light.  So no one could see them.  The stones hit the showcase and racks in the shop as a result of which glasses of the showcase were damaged and eatables were thrown on the ground.

The people who were present there immediately got into act and chased the miscreants and in the process caught Mohammad Mustafa.  However, during the enquiry Mustafa said that he had no connection with the incident since some others had pelted the stones.  He further said that he started running from the place since miscreants were running.

So it has not yet been established as why the stones were pelted at Kalpana Sweets and who were behind the attack. The Bunder police have booked a case in this regard.
