Beltangady, Jun 15: Vittal Shetty Mudayur, the managing trustee of Mahishamardhini Temple at Parenki near here has been arrested with regard to the assault on Madantyar gram panchayat member
Vittal Shetty had a property dispute with one Kishore Shetty for sometime. In this regard Vittal Shetty had hired some goons to assault Kishore. But the hired men assaulted Madantyar GP member Rajesh Moolya who had come to plough Kishore's fields. They also compelled Rajesh to have his lunch in a plate which is usually used to give food for dogs. It was later known that the goons had mistaken Rajesh for Kishore.
Rajesh who was later admitted to a private hospital at Punjalkatte is still recuperating. District in-charge minister Nagraj Shetty visited Rajesh in the hospital. The minister has also ordered the Beltangady police to arrest the other accused immediately.
