Bangalore, June 14: Eight seats will be allotted to Christians in the forthcoming corporation elections, announced Srikantamurthy, president, JD(S), city block while speaking at the leaders seminar organized by the Karnataka Christian federation at the Theological Society here
 
The Christian community is about 10 –15% in the city and it is high time the community is given representation in the political field and security in daily life, he said. 

N Thippanna, member of Legislative Council and JD(S) leader, who presided over the seminar, described himself as a true Christian, though he does not attend any church.  He further said that a person who has love and affection for his fellow neighbour is a real Christian. Please be united and we are with you, he concluded.

Former president of state women's wing, Philomena Peres, Dr Hanumanthappa, federation president Francis Jackson, Fr Johnson and others were present.
