Mangalore, Jun 16: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit the city on Friday June 23 to lay the foundation for ONGC-MRPL Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project here. Sources informed that he will arrive at 11.10 am and will leave for Bangalore at 1.20 pm the same day.

The Board of Approvals (BoA), New Delhi had given the green signal for the project a few days ago.

On Thursday June 15, while speaking to media, Project director and Kanara Chamber and Commerce Industry (KCCI) president Srinivas Rao confirmed the PM's visit and expressed hope that the project would give a boost to the economy of the region.

The police have already started making preliminary arrangements for the PM's visit.
