Beltangady, Jun 16: A ten-month-old infant died after falling into a bucket filled with water at near Dharmasthala here on Thursday June 15.

The incident took place in one Rajappa's house near Dharmasthala.  Rajappa is a lorry driver.  On Thursday he had gone for duty as usual.  Only his wife and ten-month-old infant were at home. 

Since the child was sleeping, the mother kept herself busy with some household work.  Meanwhile, the child got up and came in search of the mother.  But the child fell in a bucket which was placed in a corner of the house.

Since the mother was outside and did not know that the child had woken up, the child remained in the bucket for long.  But when the mother came inside, she saw her child fallen in the bucket with her head inside the water.  By the time she was taken out from the bucket, the child had died.
