Rajapaksa, Cameron congratulate Modi


New Delhi, May 16 (IANS): Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa and British Prime Minister David Cameron Friday congratulated Narendra Modi on the BJP's stunning victory in the Indian general election.

Rajapaksa, who was among the first world leaders to reach out to Modi, said that he called up the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.

"...congratulated on BJP victory and invited for a state visit," Rajapaksa tweeted.

Cameron tweeted: "Congratulations ... on victory in India's elections. Keen to work together to get the most from UK-India relationship."
