Karkala, Jul 12: A pedestrian was killed after an ore-laden lorry knocked him down near by-pass road near here on Wednesday July 12 morning.
The accident occurred at 7.30 am. Nagaraj (28), a resident of Kuntalpady near here was run over by an ore-laden lorry. As a result he sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.
The accident occurred on Padubidri-Kudremukh Road. However, the lorry did not stop the lorry and fled the place. But the eye witnesses chased the lorry and were able to stop it Kuntibail. But the lorry driver managed to escape. But one more person who was in the lorry has been arrested by the police.
He was working in a factory at Sanoor. He had married only a couple of years ago and has young twin babies.
