Mumbai, Jul 13: Now add J P Dutta’s Umrao Jaan to the list of Diwali/Idd releases this year.
Yes, J P has decided to brave the strong oppositions (Don, Dhoom 2) and release his Abhishek Bachchan – Aishwarya Rai starrer on October 20.
“You cannot take Umrao Jaan away from the Idd week. It’s the ideal release period for my film,” says J P, justifying his decision of October 20, “I can release my film before October 20. I completed filming UMRAO JAAN in the first week of April. I am also through with its dubbing and background music. I am sitting ready, believe me. But October 20 is the most appropriate date for Umrao Jaan and I am in no mood to budge from this date.”
There are two major oppositions on October 20.
“I am aware of those films. But I have never believed in competing with others. I make my films and leave the rest to the paying public. All this talk of competition doesn’t affect me,” J P adds.
