Gadkari takes charge as rural development minister


New Delhi, June 6 (IANS): Nitin Gadkari, minister of road transport and highways and shipping, Friday formally took charge of the rural development ministry, an official statement said.

Gadkari was given the additional charge of the ministries of rural development, panchayati raj and drinking water and sanitation after the sudden death of Gopinath Munde, who was holding these charges, in a road accident Tuesday.
