Puttur, Jul 13: Sri Ram Sene leader Arun Kumar Puttila who was the main force behind bundh in the town on Monday July 10 has now surrendered before the court on Thursday July 13 morning.

Arun Kumar Puttila surrendered before the court along with 8 other leaders.  The court is expected to take up the case on Thursday evening for hearing.

Along with Arun Kumar Puttila, Praveen Naik, Madhukar Acharya, Shreekanth, Sharathchandra, Ravichandra, Vijay and Krishnappa of RSS, Subhaschandrea Shenoy of BJP surrendered before the court on Thursday.

Earlier the court had issued warrant against Arun Kumar Puttila making him responsible for the bundh on Monday.  A case was registered by police for cutting trees and forcing people to support their call for day-long bundh.

However, Puttila had been absconding ever since.  He was not seen even on Wednesday when BJP and Hindu organizations held a huge protest rally in the town protesting the failure of police in nabbing Akshata murder accused Sattar.
