Cannes Lions Festival 2014: Indian brand Sarita Handa to showcase


New Delhi, June 7 (IANS): Indian luxury lifestyle brand Sarita Handa has been invited to be part of Cannes Lions Festival 2014, starting June 15 in France.

The 61st edition of the fest, which is a global event for those working in the creative communications, advertising and related fields, will be held till June 21. This year, the event has introduced a category of Product Design into its awards programme with an attempt to highlight how important the design of products themselves is to building a brand and promoting it.

From India, Sarita Handa, a luxury lifestyle Brand has been identified by Cannes Lions 2014 for submission in this new category.

“With the brand's innate sense of style and an extremely keen eye, the aim is to promote a wholesome brand experience which includes innovativeness and design,” Rahul Puri, managing director, Sarita Handa, said in a statement. 

The Product Design category specifically aims to recognise the applied use of physical products in aiding the communication of a brand ethos as well as its use to have a positive impact on improving people’s lives. 

Sarita Handa’s submission for this category is the Fauna collection decorative cushions, which has been inspired by the natural world of exotic wild animals as well as classic art based on tigers, zebras and monkeys.
