Mangalore, Jul 14: It was indeed a miracle. A senior citizen who had fallen into River Shambhavi accidentally was rescued by two persons on Thursday July 13.

Kamala Gowda (70), wife of Siddhu Gowda of Kadandale is said to have fallen into the river accidentally.  She was spotted near Posral-Mukkadappu bridge by Gangadhar Poojary and Harish Poojary.  The two men immediately got into the act and rescued the old woman, caring a little about their own life.

It was later said that from the place she fell into the river and to the place where she was rescued there is about 4.5 kilometres of distance.  It was surprising to see that a woman in her advanced age fought for life for almost 5 kilometres in the swollen River Shambhavi.

Paladka GP president Cynthia Aranha's husband Everest Aranha later accompanied Kamala Gowda to her home at Kadandale.
