Udupi, Jul 17: Kannada actress of the yesteryears Jayamala, who was in the eye of a controversy over her self-confessed tresspass into the forbidden sanctum sanctorum of Sabarimala Ayyappa temple, is reportedly camping at Shri Mahalingeshawar temple in Kodavoor near here. The special poojas that are being held on her behalf are supposedly in reparation for her 'acts of commission' at Sabarimala.
She has been accused of desecrating the Ayyappa idol by touching almost two decades ago, whereas no women of age before and after menopause are allowed to touch the deity, believed to be a celibate.
Although Jayamala's visit was a low-key affair, the news leaked out to the presspersons.
