Delhi Metro to sign deal with Ghaziabad agency Tuesday

Ghaziabad, June 16 (IANS): Delhi Metro managing director Mangu Singh will Tuesday sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) over the funding of the Metro rail project here, officials said Monday.

The GDA initiated steps to sign the MoU with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) following the Uttar Pradesh cabinet's nod for extension of the Delhi Metro line from Dilshad Garden till the New Bus Stand here.

As per the funding pattern decided by the state government in 2013, a total Rs.1,770 crore will be shared by the union government, the state government and the DMRC for the 9.41 km elevated-track project.

The stretch will have seven stations - Shaheed Nagar, Rajbagh, Rajendra Nagar, Shyam Park, Mohan Nagar, Arthala and New Bus Stand.
