PM Modi to inaugurate Bengaluru Metro's 7.5-km elevated Pink Line on Nov 13

Bengaluru, Nov 3: Bengaluru's much-awaited elevated section of the Pink Line Metro is expected to be thrown open to the public on November 13, following safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the corridor.

Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya has hinted at the likely launch date through a post on X, stating: “November 13th. #PinkLine”.

The elevated section comprises seven stations — Kalena Agrahara, Hulimavu, IIMB, JP Nagar 4th Phase, Jayadeva Hospital, Ragigudda and Tavarekere.

The remaining 13.8-km underground stretch will connect Dairy Circle to Nagawara, passing through key locations including M.G. Road and Shivajinagar. Once the entire corridor becomes operational, the Pink Line will connect south Bengaluru with the central and northern parts of the city, significantly improving connectivity for commuters, particularly office-goers.

The development follows an announcement last Wednesday by Karnataka Revenue Minister and minister in charge of Greater Bengaluru Development Krishna Byre Gowda that the elevated section had received the necessary safety clearance and was ready to commence passenger services, pending the Centre's announcement of an inauguration date.

“We are happy to obtain the clearance from Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety for elevated portion of Pink Line. After considerable effort, we now have the safety sanction. We are ready to launch public service as soon as Govt of India gives a date for inauguration. We have already written to them requesting for the date,” he said.
