Puttur, Jul 21: The police have arrested 3 persons including a woman with regard to alleged conversion and other illegal activities in a farm house at Bollur of Nekkilady near Kadaba here on Wednesday July 19.

The police raided the house after Hindu Jagarana Vedike activists of Kodimbala alerted them about the alleged conversion activities going on in a shed at Bollur.  When police raided the shed, only a woman known as Vasanti was present.  The police arrested her.  The police also seized religious books including the copies of the Bible and huge amount of condoms, which were used for illegal activities.

The police also arrested one Mathai on Thursday July 20 in this regard.  The prime accused in the case Alwyn Prasanna of Sametadka was nabbed by police on Thursday.

Vasanti had been given in marriage to a person from Hirebandadi sometime ago.  However, she had come back to her parental house after owing to some problems with her husband.  Thereafter she was sent to work in Bollur by one Jessie who knew Vasanthi while she was working in a telephone booth prior to her marriage.

After Jessie introduced Vasanthi to Alwyn, he brought her to Bollur shed.  She was joined by one Mathai and two more young women Shridevi and Vedavati there.  They were said to have involved in conversion activities there.

During the raid police also seized several condoms which suggest that the foursome were also involved in illegal physical relationship.

The Kadaba police have booked a case in this regard.
