Udupi / Padubidri, Jul 21: An iron-ore-laden lorry returning after unloading at New Mangalore Port proceeding towards Udupi and a passenger bus from Udupi towards Mangalore were involved in a head-on collision on Friday afternoon near the Sonu Dhaba and petrol filling station at Padubidri here.
The impact of the collision is such that it was difficult to believe that there were no casualties on the spot. About 20 persons are said to be injured, most of them from the bus. Three persons - being drivers of both vehicles and a passenger in the bus - are said to be critically injured.
