Bangalore, Jun 23: Shivarajkumar was conferred with an honorary doctorate by vice-chancellor Manjappa D Hosamane on Saturday June 21 at BDAA football grounds in Bellary.
Earlier, his father Rajkumar had recieved an honorary doctorate from Mysore University. Now, Shivarajkumar has been conferred doctorate from the Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University of Bellary.
Apart from Shivarajkumar, Professor U R Rao, Anna Hazare, Subhadramma Mansoor, Sanganabasava Mahaswami, S C Sharma, Jacob Crasta and Nasir Ahmed were also awarded the honorary doctorate on the same dais.
Rajkumar and Shivarajkumar are the first father-son duo in India to be conferred with honorary doctorate.
On Sunday June 22, Shivarajkumar's fans celebrated the honorary doctorate of their idol, by visiting his house and wishing him. Sandalwood actress Leelavathi and her son Vinod Raj also visited Shivarajkumar's house and congratulated him.
