St John the Baptist Church organizes Community Shield 2014

Mumbai, July 3: St John the Baptist Church recently organized the  Community Shield 2014 for their 14 zones in an inter-community parish event which was inaugurated on June 15 by Father Sean Sequeira.

The games included in the community shield were Football for juniors, seniors and veteran men, square ball for girls and carrom and cricket as open events.


The tournament brought all 14 zones of the parish under one roof competing with each other in a healthy and fun-filled environment. With over 500 players and spectators that ran up to more than 3000 in 15 days, the game brought a lot of cheer and energy in the tournament.

The finals were held on Sunday June 29. The Pratap-Khopat-Narlipada were the winners of the community shield and the zone was sponsored by Model Co-op Bank Ltd. The runners up were Kolbad.
