Mumbai, Jul 16: Bollywood's top actress Katrina Kaif has turned 30 today. Katrina Kaif's story from an underdog to stardom is truely inspirational. She is from London and came to Mumbai at an early age of 18 to make a living.
She made her debut in Hindi film industry in the 2003 film 'Boom', which was a disaster in the box office. The movie was criticized for its sleaze content. After having one of the worst debuts, she found comfort with superstar Salman Khan. Salman was impressed with the dedication of Katrina and took her under his wings. He mentored her and got her some good projects.
After having Salman's support, she did not look back. She worked in many films and all were doing wonders in the box office. Initially she used to paly second fiddles to actresses like Lara Dutta and Bipasha Basu in 'Partner' and 'Race' respectively. But she got her due credits when she was paired opposite Akshay Kumar. Her films with Akshay Kumar were very popular and most of them stuck gold in the box office.
During this time she was constantly linked with Salman Khan. Salman and Katrina also showed their affection toward each other in the public but never accepted that they are a couple.
Career wise Katrina was giving huge hits and was considered in top 3 actresses. She was criticized for playing a glam doll in most of the movies, but she silenced her critics with her film 'Raajneeti'. She played a widow politician in the film and the film became a huge success. During this film she was linked with Ranbir Kapoor. There were reports that she has broken up with Salman for Ranbir. None of the actors concerned clarified anything with the media, hence creating more suspense about the triangular love story.
Katrina Kaif was signed opposite Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan in Yash Raj Films productions 'Ek That Tiger', 'Jab Tak Hain Jaan' and 'Dhoom 3' respectively. She gave the industry's biggest hit with Aamir in the form of 'Dhoom 3'.
Salman agreed that he is not dating Katrina, thus ending speculations about his love life. Katrina's holiday photo with Ranbir in Spain was leaked to the media thus confirming their love story.
