Malaysian girl's body to return from Australia

Kuala Lumpur, Sep 15 (IANS): The family of the eight-year-old girl who was flung from a ride at a carnival in Australia are making preparations to bring her remains back to Malaysia.

Honorary Consul of Malaysia in South Australia Hassan Salleh said the victim's family had requested for privacy to grieve, the Malaysian Star reported.

"She was visiting relatives with her family when the tragedy struck," Hassan said.

The victim was reportedly thrown from the AirMaxx 360 ride at the Royal Adelaide Show Friday, witnesses said. The cene was like that from a horror movie, they added.

One report said the child went flying about 10 to 15 metres in the air.

On Sunday, the show organisers said a second ride had been closed as the authorities investigated a photo allegedly showing a child on the ride who did not meet the required height specifications.
