National Conference worker shot dead in Kashmir


Srinagar, Sep 21 (IANS): Separatist guerrillas Sunday shot dead a worker of the ruling National Conference party here in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The motorcycle-riding militants fired at Mohd. Lateef Gupkari in the old city area of Nawatta, critically injuring him.

"He was immediately taken to Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. Doctors tried to revive him but he died of his injuries," police told IANS.
