Dubai: Pangalites to hold blood donation camp on Nov 7

Dubai, Oct 22: Emirates Pangalites, UAE will organize a blood donation camp with a slogan, ‘Give Blood Save Life’ at Latifa Hospital (Al Wasl), Dubai, on Friday, November 7.

The blood donation camp will begin from 8.30am and conclude at 10.30 am.

Everybody should donation blood because it is a noble deed which not only saves the life of a patient who needs blood but also helps the donor to be healthy. It also strengthens the bond of togetherness and we have a sense of enrichment as we help other human beings. It is part of community service. It is everybody's responsibility to donate blood. Blood donation is the voluntary act which gives a wonderful feeling of saving someone’s life.

Free Checkups:

There will be a free check up of hemoglobin and blood-pressure.

ID Proof required (any one of the following):

Emirates ID or work-permit or passport with residence or driving license

Rules for blood donation:

Maintain a healthy iron level in your diet by eating iron rich foods, such as spinach, red meat, fish and beans.
Get a good night's sleep prior to the blood donation day.
Drink extra water and fluids and eat a healthy meal before your donation.
Avoid alcohol drinks, 12 hours before the donation.
Relax during the donation process.

Drink plenty of fluids over the next 24-48 hours to replenish any fluids you would lose during donation.
Avoid strenuous physical activity or heavy lifting for about five hours after donation.
