Mumbai Bunts association holds 31st annual general body meeting

Mumbai, Dec 2: The 31st annual general body meeting of Mumbai Bunts Association was held at Bunts Center, Shashikala Manmohan Shetty Complex, Navi Mumbai, Juinagar West, on Sunday November 30.

Vice-president M B Vittal Rai, joint secretary advocate B A Sadashiva Rai, joint treasurer Innabeedu Ravindra B Shetty, women’s wing executive president Sarala B Shetty, and youth wing executive president Chethan R Shetty were present on the dais. Honorary chief secretary Chandrashekar S Shetty read the report of previous year's general body meeting and the activities during the past year. Honorary chief treasurer C A Surendra K Shetty gave information on receipts and payments during the year. A silent prayer was held for the departed souls of association members and members of the community.

Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty, president, Buntara Sangha, Mumbai, speaking on the occasion, said that Bunts Sangha Mumbai and Mumbai Bunts Association are like the two eyes of the Bunt community. “The aim of those associations is the well-being of the community. It is gratifying to see both of them proceeding in the same direction. They are progressing and trying to unite the community. A bank and an international school for Bunts will be started soon,” he added.

Shyama N Shetty, president, Mumbai Bunts Association, felicitated Karnire Vishwanath Shetty. Honorary chief secretary Ulthooru Mohandas Shetty and joint treasurer Mahesh S Shetty spoke and conveyed their best wishes for the progress of the association. From the audience, Dr B Prabhakar Shetty, T R Shetty, former association president advocate Anand V Shetty Padooru, and advocate Rathnakar V Shetty gave their suggestions and wished for the progress of the association.

The conference held subsequently was presided over by president Shyama N Shetty. Senior leader of Tulu Kannadigas and president of Bunts Justice Board lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated the conference. Satkar Group of Hotels executive president Shivarama Krishna Shetty and his wife Pramoda and Bunts Sangha Bellary president Gurme Suresh P Shetty were felicitated by president Shyama N Shetty. Talented students were presented annual awards on the occasion.

Buntara Sangha Mumbai women’s wing executive president Lata Jayarama Shetty, Anitha Santhosh D Shetty, K K Shetty, Bhaskar Y Shetty Khandesh, Ramesh Shetty, Gopal Y Shetty, Sunder Shetty, Harish Kumar Shetty, association higher education committee executive president advocate Rathnakar Shetty, law committee executive president advocate Subhash B Shetty, association organ committee executive president Santhosh Kumar R Shetty, honorary editor Ram Mohan Shetty Balkunje, membership registration committee president Kolpe Dhananjay S Shetty, social welfare committee president Sadananda D Shetty, cultural committee president Vishwanath V Shetty, education committee president advocate Uppooru Shekar Shetty, matrimonial committee president Heera R Shetty, education committee president Murali Shetty, former presidents Atturu Babu N Shetty, N C Shetty, Jayarama S Mally, advocate Anand V Shetty Padooru, advocate Ashok D Shetty, Jayanth K Shetty, chief organizer Dayanand Shetty and other office-bearers were felicitated by the president by presenting flower bouquets.

Women’s wing office-bearers Nagaveni S Shetty, Shyamala S Shetty, Prafulla Shetty, Latha G Shetty, Shailaja A Shetty, Asha Shetty, youth wing office-bearers Dikshit Bhandary, Charan R Shetty, Smrithi B Shetty, Santhosh G Shetty, Priyanka R Shetty and hundreds of Bunts were present.

The programme started with a prayer by Sumathi R Shetty. Vice-president M B Vittal Rai welcomed. Journalist Dayasagar Chowta compered the programme. Honorary chief secretary Chandrashekar S Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the national anthem.
