Madura proposes to set up manufacturing unit in Odisha


Bhubaneswar, Dec 3 (IANS): Madura Fashion & Lifestyle (MFL), a division of Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd., has proposed to set up a greenfield apparel manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs.75 crore in Odisha.

The company has proposed to set up the garment manufacturing unit in three phases at Mancheswar industrial area in Bhubaneswar.

"We are keenly looking at establishing our base for manufacturing and selling from Odisha and meeting the requirement of northern Indian market in future and developing in phased manner strong manufacturing and warehousing hub of MFL," said a letter of MFL submitted to the Odisha government.

MFL, a premium lifestyle player in the retail sector, is known for its brands - Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England.
