Kolkata, Sep 24: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Thursday announced that the conglomerate plans to invest more than Rs 1 lakh crore in West Bengal by 2035 across sectors including ports, logistics, power, roads and data centres.
Adani made the announcement while laying the foundation stone for the proposed 2,000-bed Adani Arogya Mandir in New Town, Kolkata. The healthcare project will involve an investment of more than Rs 4,000 crore and is expected to create over 10,000 jobs.

Adani was accompanied by his wife Priti Adani and son Karan Adani, managing director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, at the foundation stone-laying ceremony. West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari was also present at the event.
The Adani Arogya Mandir is planned as a 2,000-bed not-for-profit medical institution and will include a medical college and facilities for advanced research and healthcare. Of the 2,000 beds, 1,000 will be reserved for economically weaker sections covered under state and central government health insurance schemes.
Adani said the healthcare project formed part of the group's broader commitment to Bengal and that the proposed investments would extend beyond healthcare to infrastructure and other key sectors.
The group said its wider investment plan for West Bengal would cover ports and maritime logistics, power generation and transmission, roads and bridges, green cement and hyperscale data centres.
The proposed hospital and related facilities are expected to generate more than 10,000 employment opportunities across West Bengal's healthcare ecosystem.
