Mumbai, Dec 23: Bombay Bunts Association, one of the well known social organizations in Mumbai metro held their tenth annual sports festival on Sunday, December 21 at District Sports complex at Sion. Bantara Sangha Mumbai president Karnire Vishwanath Shetty lighted the lamp and set the sports festival in motion.
"Festival is proclaiming the unity of Bunts. It is a forum to encourage children's talent. It is also a sports festival uniting the adults and children among Bunts. Let us encourage sportspersons among us," said Karnire Vishwanath Shetty.
Kannadiga journalist's association president Chandrashekar Palethady, honorary president of the programme left balloons to the sky. Jyotsna Farmar, Reddy, Sabu Reddy and NCP leader Bhaskar Shetty were present. Dakshina Kannada district Rajyotsava awardee Drishya Shetty brought the flame after taking it around the playground and set the programme in motion. National athlete and former national sportsman C N Shetty and sports trainer Vijaya Shetty were felicitated by guests of honor.
NKES school teacher Amarish Pateel and Santhosh Mishra led the NCC cadets march past along with band. Different groups participated in the march past and guests received the salute.
Bunts Sangha Mumbai honory chief secretary Ulthooru Mohandas Shetty, honorary treasurer CA I R Shetty, joint treasurer Mahesh S Shetty, Gautham Shetty, Association honorary chief secretary Chandrashekar S Shetty, Vice president M B Vittala Rai, honorary treasurer CA Surendra K Shetty, Youth wing executive president Chetan R Shetty, former presidents N C Shetty, advocate Kadandale Parari Prakash L Shetty, advocate Anand V Shetty, advocate Ratnakar Shetty, Jayanth K Shetty, trustees, manager Ram Mohan Shetty Balkunje and Dayananda Shetty, Womens wing executive president, former executive president Heera R Shetty, Sushila C Shetty and other elite people were present.
Bunts Sangha Mumbai, Bombay Bunts Association, Thane Bunts Association, Mulund Bunts, Vikroli Bunts, Jawab, Meera Bunts Forum, Meera Dahanu Bunts, Pune Bunts, Bunts Association Haveli Pune, Bunts Sangha Pimpri-Chinchwad, Bunts Sangha Nasik and several other Bunts in Maharastra participated in the event.
The sports started after Bunts folks song. Association sports committee executive president, Advocate Uppooru Shekhar Shetty welcomed and introduced the guests. Journalist Dayasagar Chouta, Petemane Prakash Shetty and Amritha A Shetty compered the programme. A prayer for the departed souls of children in Peshawar and Bunts was held in the beginning of the programme. Sports committee secretary Jaya C Shetty Charcop proposed vote of thanks.
